Authentic. Effortless. Cool. A home away from home, and yet my home and my heart just as much.
Ah, to my dear darling London, where do I even begin? August the 2nd marked the first anniversary of this chapter in my life – One year. 365 days later. A year that went by so quick, but felt like a lifetime all at once.
One year. Two houses. Three holidays. I called North London home, and then I called West London home. I lost 20kg, I found my confidence, I embraced my voice, and discovered that I wasn’t actually as much of an introvert as I had once deemed myself to be.
I kissed a few frogs in search of a prince and I discovered that not all soul mates are the romantic kind. In turn, I made the discovery that the very best kind of soul mates are in fact the beautiful friendships made along the way that shine brighter than the sun and are as deeply layered as a fine wine.
This is the city that didn’t change me, but brought out the best in me.
So today I raise my glass – one filled with a plump and spicy Malbec – and say happy anniversary to me & cheers to the city that allowed me to find my feet and to find myself.
